In the Fall of ’12, I moved to Downtown Mount Dora. I had no recollection of ever being in this city prior to my move (I had been, I’ll share that in another post!). I’m the kind of girl who can get lost in a box. After missing my street for the tenth time, I noticed that on the other side of my street was this big ole vintage store’s sign. From that day on, I knew where 10th Ave was. Here’s the kicker, I never went into that store until three weeks ago and it’s September. In fact, I never went to any antique or vintage stores until three weeks ago. If you know Mount Dora, you know that’s a sin. It is the antique capital of Florida! I haven’t lived in downtown since Spring and it’s been too hot to walk around that area to just window shop. My antique obsessed best friend came up from South FL this past Labor Day and we hit up every and any shop we could find. After a couple of stores, we finally got to Annabelle’s and I swear, angels sung.
I had to get this lamp. It looks funny because I don’t have a bulb in it. After showing it to some friends, they made me realize it looks like something super inappropriate.
Please excuse my guest bathroom, it’s work in progress. I will put these super cute vintage jars on a shelf. The metal beauty is a hair spray cover. Sarah had this great idea of putting a battery tea light under it at night. It looks amazing 🙂 If you’re in the Orlando/Mount Dora area, please drop by and tell them I sent you. It’ll be worth it, I promise!
