Yum Nua is my go to dish when I go out for Thai food, but I hardly go out anymore because I have a pretty sweet kitchen. I’m known for ordering my dishes “Thai hot”, which has never been an issue with me until recently. Since I was new to the area last year, I checked out the local Thai restaurant. Let me start off by saying that I love this restaurant and everyone who works there. With that being said, I ordered my Yum Nua Thai hot. An older Thai woman came out to meet me. She was very gracious and said she would prepare the dish just for me. It was hands down the best Yum Nua I had ever had, but about a minute later the heat snuck up on me. My nose was runny and I had tears during dinner. You’ll know when mama is there because it looks like my date is breaking up with me during dinner. Now I can cry in the comfort of my home.
This was such an easy dish to make, I can’t believe it took me so long to try this recipe out! The recipe I used came from my imaginary friend, Chrissy Teigen .

The only thing I did different was marinade the onions in the sauce for about 10 minutes. I personally love onions, but when cooking for other people, I try to not be so overwhelming. As an onion lover, I wasn’t disappointed with this decision.
