I’m very particular about what my pup consumes. People have scoffed at my way of life, like I’m some kind of pompous jerk, but stories like this makes me pay closer attention to what my little guy eats. Duke is a Jack Russell Terrier, they are known to have skin issues, and extremely sensitive. Our first Jack had skin allergies. He was eventually put on a strict diet of no gluten or corn products. When we limited his gluten and corn intake, the irritation reduced greatly.
Whimzees are made in Holland. It’s ingredients are: Potato Starch, Glycerin, Powdered Cellulose, Lecithin, Malt Extract, and Yeast.
The purpose of these chews is to reduce plaque and tartar. Because of Whimzee’s unique shape, it helps with proper blood flow through the gums and prevents bad breath and the build-up of tartar.
Sure, it’s healthy..but is it tasty? Will your dog enjoy it? This is Duke’s reaction when he heard me open the bag:
He’s not allowed to get his treat until he calms down.
I usually purchase the bigger Alligator. The big gator keeps him distracted for at least a half an hour. These little ones were only 10 minutes each. I’ve seen them at PETSMART, Pet Supermarket, and lot of specialty dog shops have them in bulk bins.
I honestly can’t think of any cons. You cannot beat the price ($2 and some change).
