Although I don’t have a family of my own yet, I often envision how I want to raise our future babies and have endless discussions with my husband over this topic. There are three points that often come up in our exchange:
1. We want to always remain busy and better our lives.
2. We would want our children to be very active in school, the arts, and sports.
3. Tradicíon, Tradicíon, Tradicíon!
Hello, Primera Comunión, tamales en Noche Buena, Celebrar la Semana Santa, and paying respect to deceased loved ones on Todos los Santos day!
I understand that it can be challenging trying to achieve balance, but I find there are people out there who make it happen.
Johnson & Johnson and Univision recently partnered up in search of La Familia de Hoy for 2014. They are looking for a modern family that represents Latinos. A family who is modern, active, and authentic. Three families are featured here . They are all lovely, dedicated, and have amazing stories, but one family stood out the most. I voted for the family who I could relate to and aspire to be like. That family is the Olivera family .
Milena and Roberto are two busy individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit. The both of them instill tradition, the arts, and an active lifestyle in their family.
Brazilian born Milena lived in El Salvador, and now calls the U.S home. Roberto, the father is a Peruvian American. Together, they have seven year old twins, a one year old, and a baby due this Spring. The twins are involved in soccer and their father also coaches.
I’m not even a parent and this family inspires me in so many ways.
What do you all think of the Olivera family? Do you think they have what it takes to be La Familia de Hoy? Voting is so simple, you can do it here and also receive coupons from Johnson & Johnson!
