Ipsy’s January 2014 Glam Bag
I’m noticing that other bloggers post their goodies right away. The reason why I’ve waited is because I want to use the beauty products first and write a review along with sharing what I’ve received. What do you all think? Let me know below!
I love the way they package their goodies!
The samples and full sized products are placed in a different style makeup bag each month. Personally, I love this because these babies always come in handy. Unfortunately, this month, my makeup bag smells like rubber. The odor is really strong even though I’ve had this bag out for a month. Thumbs down!
Mark Fading Pads
2% Salicylic Acid
5% Glycolic Acid
Convenient single use pads that help remove dead skin cells to unclog pores and remove dull layers to reveal newer, smoother, more even toned skin.
These were probably my favorite out of the whole bag. I have to warn you all, if your skin isn’t oily, this probably isn’t for you. The pads are soaked in salicylic acid, which can be harsh, but perfect for people with acne prone skin. When I woke up, my face still felt fresh from the night before, and not oily. I didn’t break out at all and used the pads four nights in a row. The only downfall is the smell, which has a strong medicinal scent. I’m pretty shocked that I liked a product by Proactive, it’s not exactly a brand I run to. I will be buying a full sized box soon.
I can’t give you the retail value of this product because I can’t find it on the site. I’m going to purchase the facial pads from the Proactive kiosk at the mall.
Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion (Argan-Rosewater)
I was scared to put this on my face because it has argan oil in it. My face doesn’t do well with products that have oil, so I just put this product around my eyes and neck. It smells so good because it has Moroccan Argan Oil, Rosewater, and Shea Butter. This face lotion is 100% natural/USDA-Certified Organic. The product absorbed into my skin fast. Because I didn’t put it all over my face, I don’t feel like I can say much. It didn’t exactly wow me, but definitely a thumbs up on the light but pleasant fragrance!
Retails at $21.99
Don’t Despair, Repair!
Deep Conditioning mask that fortified with avocado, sweet almond, argan oils, keratin protein, aloe, rosehip oil, and essential vitamins. It promotes shine, luster, and replenishes strength.
This mask is really fragrant, but not in a sickening way. I could definitely tell there was sweet almond and argan oil in it, which are two of my favorite. A little goes a long way. My hair was very soft and frizz free after I used this mask. I gotta mention that my hair is almost down to my butt and in need of a trim and TLC. I’m going to purchase the full sized jar, I love this stuff!
Retails at $26
Smooth Shadow Creamy Eye Pencil in Pearl
You can use this on your top lid, waterline, or as a highlighter. Personally, I wouldn’t use this as a highlighter. I’m not really into waterlining my eyes, but maybe this will inspire me.
Retails at $14.99
Tinted Lip Balm in Fiesta
24 hour lip balm that conditions your lips without smudging while delivering a sophisticated finish
When I first saw the container, I didn’t think I would be into the color. After I swatched this product on my arm, I liked it. It’s so vibrant! By the way, my arm was stained even after washing it off with soap. When I wore it on my lips, the balm did stain them but it wasn’t even…it looked kind of weird. You definitely have to reapply or put another balm on top of this lip balm. Also, it doesn’t have a scent/flavor. I can kind of smell the plastic container that it’s in, which is a turn off. It’s a shame because the color is gorgeous.
Wow, I just read another turn off. This tinted lip balm retails at $30.
I was happy with this bag, especially since I want to purchase two full sized products.
