I’ll get to the point of this post, please bear with me. This past January, I started following Monica’s Instagram and thought she was awesome. The both of us ended up at the same luncheon a couple weeks later (how crazy is that?). I absolutely love her blog . I often find myself trying new things I learned on her blog, whether it be yoga techniques or recipes. One post caught my eye, it was called Goodies from my Foodie Penpal . I thought that was such a cool idea, so I signed up right away .
Lindsay at the Lean Green Bean started a fun program called Foodie Penpals. After you sign up, she matches you with someone. From there, you get in touch with your penpal to discuss likes, dislikes, allergies, and food restrictions. By the 15th of the month, you send a package to your Foodie Penpal.
My Foodie Penpal this month is Erin . She emailed me right away with questions, along with her own answers for those questions. When I read her responses, I couldn’t believe the similarities. I’m not kidding,we practically had the same answers for each question. We basically agreed to shop for each other as if we were buying ourselves our favorite things.
Coming home to a box full of treats totally made my day!
Look at all of these amazing goodies
Pineapple is my favorite fruit. In fact, my home is never without a fresh pineapple or juice. It’s like my morning coffee. I’ve never seen Freeze Dried Crunchies in my life. Well, I haven’t exactly been looking for them either. These crunchy little treats are the perfect combination of tart and sweet. I’ll be on the look out for these from now on.
Purely Elizabeth: Pumpkin Fig Granola
Gluten-Free,Vegan, Free of refined sugar
I tend to stay away from granola because I can’t eat gluten. Again, it’s just something I haven’t exactly looked for. I’m so glad that Erin added this to her package. It’s so delicious. Pumpkin flavored anything is automatically my fave…. and I never told her that.
Guajillo & Chipotle Chili Super Dark Chocolate
There aren’t any pictures because I didn’t think about my camera or anything else as I ate this. Dark chocolate & chili is one of my guilty pleasures. If you haven’t tried this bar and you love spice, this is absolutely a must. By the way, the chili isn’t overbearing. It’s just right.
I smirked when I read “I hope you don’t hate seaweed” in her note. I snack on seaweed often, especially Annie Chun’s, but I never get this flavor. I’ve been missing out, it’s super tasty. I love that these because they fit perfectly in my purse. Anyone else eat seaweed in traffic? No?
This was really cool.
Curry is one of my favorite spices, but I’ve never heard of Curry Salt. This tastes so good, but so far I’ve only put it on sliced avocados, lemony kale salad, and lemony broccoli salad. I can’t wait to put this on everything!
Erin was so thoughtful with great taste. I hope she enjoyed my treats as much as I’ve enjoyed hers!
Check out her blog . She has all sorts of healthy recipes, lifestyle and motivation on her blog. You can also see what I sent her here . Again, click here if you want to sign up for April’s Foodie Penpal program.
