“The way I see it…..Cupcakes are a form of art, a magnificent masterpiece, on an edible canvas, and you can never have too many hanging out.”
-Owner, Judy Owens
When I lived in historic downtown Mt. Dora, every once in awhile, I’d walk to Cupcake Delights and have a field day. Even though I can’t eat gluten, their cupcakes were something that I simply couldn’t resist. Last year, they moved from an itty bitty cupcake shop to a bakery just one block away. Did I mention that their new home is at least three times bigger than their original shop? Oh, yeah… they proudly serve GLUTEN- FREE CUPCAKES!
Everyday, they bake their cupcakes right there on the premises with high quality ingredients. Their signature Cream Cheese and Butter Cream frostings are made from scratch using real butter, cream cheese, and Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla
Cupcake Delights rotates over 80 different flavors on a daily basis, but they try to have 14 or more mouthwatering flavors a day to choose from. They are always trying something new (like Butterbeer!), so keep checking back for new flavors. My favorite way of keeping up to date with the flavors and news is through their fanpage .
I absolutely love their gluten-free cupcakes. If you can’t consume gluten, you know how hard it is to find baked goods that taste like the real deal. What I love about Cupcake Delight’s gluten-free cupcakes is that they’re fluffy, moist, and baked to perfection. Gluten-free baking is an art. Unfortunately, a lot of people cannot get it right. This is where I go for my cupcake fix and I cannot tell you how thrilled I am! My favorite GF flavors are Red Velvet and Blood Orange. To be honest, I haven’t tried any other flavors, I just stick to what I like. I’ll try to venture on to something else and let you all know what I think one of these days.
Prior to offering gluten-free options, my favorites were: Italian wedding cake, strawberry cream, salted caramel, pumpkin spice, and Willis & Cream. “What’s Willis & Cream?”, you ask…
It’s a Cookies and Cream cupcake named after Mount Dora’s David Oliver Willis . Us Mount Dora folk have a lot of pride and love! 😉
Not only do they serve delicious treats, but their shop is adorable. This adorable shop has cupcake happy hour . Don’t forget to like their fanpage to know when it’s happening. How fun is that?
This is the perfect place to take your family, your date for dessert, or to pick up some goodies for your loved ones.
When you check out, you can also purchase cupcake lip balm and all natural cupcake soaps.
AYE, QUE CUTE!
I went into Cupcake Delights the following day (4/12) for dessert and noticed they had a new gluten-free option…White Chocolate Macadamia Nut
If you know me, you know I absolutely love white chocolate and macadamia nuts. These cupcakes are hands down the best cupcakes I’ve ever consumed.
I’m going back for more tomorrow. I have no shame. The white chocolate frosting is sweet, but the cupcake is not overwhelming because the cake balances everything out. And, hello, macadamia nuts.. It’s just perfect! 🙂
Judy and her staff are so sweet and wonderful, please stop by for a visit!
If you are interested in their gluten free cupcakes or any specific cupcake, call ahead. Their cupcakes sell out quickly!
