I recently learned that our lips are the most sensitive and environmentally susceptible parts of our body and they are the gate-keepers to the sensitive mucus membranes of the mouth. A lot of balms on the market are made from petroleum that unnaturally coats the lip surface and does not allow it to naturally rid itself of bacteria. It harbors and traps bacteria on your lips. I’m trying to make better choices when it comes to my personal care products, so I was excited to try Epic Blend.
The Omega-6 fatty acids in hemp stimulate skin and hair growth, maintain bone health, regulate metabolism, and help the brain function.
When sprinkled on your cereal or fruit at breakfast, hemp protein and fiber also help aid in satiety, which will prevent you from snacking and keep you fuller longer.
The protein and fiber in hemp combine to slow digestion, which prevents spikes in blood sugar and therefore sustains your body’s energy. A diet rich in hemp promotes digestive regularity.
The Omega-3 fatty acids in hemp reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, lower blood pressure, and may even ward off Alzheimer’s disease. Hemp seeds are one of the few Omega-3 sources found in plants.
Hemp seeds contain essential amino acids, which improves muscle control, mental function, and normal body maintenance of cells, muscle, tissues, and organs.
Epic Blend sent me a superpack that had 10 lip balms.
Four of them are made with hemp oil:
Two are vegan:
Three are from their More Moisture collection, seven moisturizers, including Organic Shea Butter come together to provide an extra kick of moisture plus a boost of staying power: Grape, Cherry, Green Apple, and Unflavored
I’ve been wearing these balms all day for weeks. I’m very particular about my lip balm because I will like something and then a couple weeks later, I find flaws.
What I liked about the balms from all three of their lines is that they are all very moisturizing but absorb well into my lips. I never had a weird film, or white skin on the corners of my lips. Do you know what I’m talking about? There’s a certain brand of balms that everyone raves about, and I simply cannot get into them because it leaves a waxy film on my lips.
I find that I use the Vanilla, Citrus Kick, and Mint the most from their hemp line. I’m always attracted to vanilla flavors, but Citrus Kick is what I prefer in the morning. It makes me feel energized. Mint is my favorite to use at night, right after I wash my face, it’s nice and refreshing. Coconut smells exactly like a coconut, but I only wore it through out the last few weeks to test it.
I love their Wild Berry & Pineapple-Mint Vegan Balms.
100% plant-based and beeswax-free. They use all-natural food grade Candelilla wax, which gives these balms an incredibly smooth texture. I’m a sucker for pineapple and mint, but pineapple and mint together? It’s great! When I first opened up my package, I couldn’t stop smelling Wild Berry.
The last four are what I call my “fun” balms. I didn’t have high hopes for these because I’ve never been one to purchase flavors like Grape, Cherry, or Green apple. But, I really, really like these! I carry this set of balms in my purse and use them through out the day. The unflavored moisturizes well, but let’s be honest….I like flavor. 🙂
Epic Blend Lip Balms gets a big thumbs up!
-The flavors taste just like their name/descriptions
-Moisturizes well but doesn’t leave a weird film
-You can’t beat the price of $3.49 a tube
Currently, this fantastic brand is all over Canada, but I hear they are coming to the U.S soon! Click here for locations. And of course, you can order online. Click here to visit them.
Epic Blend was kind enough to gift me their superpack to take a look at. As usual, I promise to give my honest opinion.
