I thought I was going out to a casual late lunch for my birthday, but my husband surprised me with a special trip to Disney’s Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World. He must have read this post… mmmhmmm..
Before you walk into the hotel, there’s a gorgeous photo opp. 🙂
Born and raised in Oahu, Hawai’i, Auntie Kau’i has worked at this resort since it opened, and is a legend around these parts. Here she is giving me birthday “punches” (love taps!). Mahalo, ‘anakē Kau’i.
This is where we had dinner, the Kona Cafe .
Kona Cafe has a casual, laid-back vibe. Some guests were in their park clothes, others dressed up for dinner. Come as you are and you’ll have an amazing meal.
The scallops were like butter. Fresh scallops cooked to perfection made my night. Looking at the picture right now is torture because it’s 1 am and I’m starving.
After dinner, the chef came out again to say goodbye. Our experience was fantastic, Disney is always top notch. My birthday was absolutely perfect (thank you, love!).
Did you know that you can grab a Dole Whip or Hawaiian shaved ice at the resort? I was way too full to enjoy my favorites but I’ll be back soon enough! 🙂
At the TCC, you can catch the Epcot Monorail and Express Monorail. Staying at the Polynesian Resort or the other resorts I listed above makes life so much easier, trust me.
Have you been to Walt Disney World Resorts? Which one is your favorite?
