My love for Aveda runs deep. I wish I could live there and be pampered all day. My birthday was a couple weeks ago and I felt the need to chop my hair. Yet, I still have a crazy long mane. I was pulling some Rasta stuff, my hair was just above my butt. That same week, I received an email from my local Aveda with a free birthday Botanical Head & Scalp offer. Aveda twice in a week? Yes, please!
This is the treatment’s description:
A spa experience for your head. It begins with a restorative scalp treatment and ends with a transformative moisture or repair treatment, followed by a Blow Dry. The hair will look healthier and shinier – and feel soft and silky.
Ugh, I want to go back right now and do this all over again. My stylist that day was incredible, her name is Cat. She had me pick out the oil that would be used during my scalp treatment. I chose peppermint, which smells amazing and feels great, especially during a massage. She added the oil to my head, nape of my neck, and went to town. You know when you get a mani or pedi and you get disappointed when they cut the massage short? I didn’t feel like she rushed. I mean, even at high end salons, I’ve had people rush during spa treatments. When she was done, I was completely satisfied. But wait, there’s more!
Cat washed hair and continued to massage my head. She even put treatment in my hair and let that soak for a bit. And like every other Aveda experience I’ve had, she brought out the warm towels, wrapped them over my hands, and gave me an amazing arm/hand massage.
It was time for my blow dry. She didn’t do the perfect blow out because I wanted her to use the curling iron. FYI, that’s not a bad thing. The point is to just get my hair completely dry and focus on styling it via curling iron. We agreed on soft curls and spent the rest of the time chatting away. I was very happy with the end result. My hair looked beautiful and shiny!
This was my hair after being out all night.
Not only did I come home with gorgeous hair, I also brought Aveda’s Comforting Tea!
I enjoy tea, but I wouldn’t call myself a tea drinker. I usually just stick to seltzer and regular water.
My girl V at Land Of La La got to check out her local Aveda salon a few months ago. As soon as she got home, she text me and told me to try their tea. I’m not going to lie, I thought “ehhhh”, and then she told me it had licorice in it and I definitely didn’t want to try it. But it’s V, and I truly trust her judgement. She assured me that it doesn’t taste like licorice. Typically, I drink their infused water, it’s usually too hot to drink their tea. I’m so glad I finally caved in and tried it.
GO OUT AND BUY A BOX NOW!
It’s basically magic in a cup. The licorice is used to sweeten it, but there isn’t any sugar in it. It’s so delicious, you will not be disappointed.
The box comes with 20 tea packets and it costs $17. Yes, that’s pretty pricey for tea, but it’s organic and amazing. And if you’re a Starbucks drinker blown away by the price, I’d love to point out how much you pay for a single serving at Starbucks…… so……. 😉
There’s no caffeine, sugar, or added flavors.
Here’s the part that shocked me: it’s an herbal infusion of licorice root, fennel, peppermint, in convenient tea bags.
Licorice is not something that I enjoy. A few months back, someone suggested I try a tea with licorice and I couldn’t stomach it. I do not like fennel in my tea, only in certain dishes. Peppermint makes me feel ill, especially in tea. The three ingredients that I loath in tea are in this blend. WHAT IN THE WORLD?!
Not only is this delicious hot, but it’s just as amazing iced! My location has the best staff, they’re so friendly and truly love the products. One of them gave me all sorts of ideas and even gave me a recipe for Iced Peach Tea.
What you need:
4 cups of Iced Aveda Comforting Tea
1 cup of white grape juice
1 peach (chopped)
Mix everything together and enjoy!
I’m such a fan, this blend is pure perfection.
Have you ever tried this blend before? What’s your favorite tea flavor?
