Growing up in Florida, I have many fond memories of spending time with family in Daytona Beach. My dad spent a lot of time in that area during his youth, so he knew Daytona well. Because we lived an hour away, we would frequent the beach, and had many staycations there. We also had friends who would visit from out of state that would stay at resorts in Daytona Beach. Because this area offers a wide variety of activities, dining options, and gorgeous beach shores, it was a no brainer to catch up with out of state visitors there! I can’t forget to mention my favorite location, the Daytona Beach Boardwalk, where I spent so many hours when I was a kid. The boardwalk is full of Kid friendly options , such as arcades, amusement rides, food, and shops.
The beach awaits you! Daytona Beach is covered in gorgeous white sand that sits densely on the shore, which allows visitors to drive their cars along the water’s edge, which is pretty convenient if you ask me. Along the beach are great options for your family’s stay including hotels, rentals, motels, condo rentals, bed and breakfast inns, camping grounds and vacation rentals. If you’re not the type to just lay around and lounge, there’s plenty of Outdoor Fun ! You can rent equipment for water sports, go deep-sea fishing, or visit Daytona’s historical sites. At night, chose from a number of Daytona’s fine dinning and restaurants, bars, or dance clubs. Looking for budget friendly activities? Check out Free Things to Do in Daytona Beach .
Did you know that Daytona Beach was Festival Capital of Florida ? Fall festivals make this one of the best times of the year to visit Daytona Beach so that you can join in experiencing the fall festivals. Attend the Daytona Beach Blues Festival or find daily live music at Bruce Rossmeyer’s. If you love art, you can attend the Halifax art festival or Daytona Beach’s film festival. And there is always the Wings and Waves air show where over 40 different Air Force aircrafts give an astonishing aerial performance over the Atlantic Ocean.
Daytona Beach is the perfect getaway whether you’re looking for a vacation or a romantic getaway!
