Last month, Claudia Mundlos of Sanford 365 hooked up our
little group with a tour of historic Downtown Sanford with Limo Cycle. To be
honest, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into when I signed up for this
event, but a fun girl’s night was necessary that week.
The last time I was in Sanford was over a decade ago, and it wasn’t exactly a
happening place. For some reason, I feel like I toured a celery farm, or some
type of field for a class project. Whatever it was, it didn’t exactly make me want to go back to Sanford again. When I pulled into the historic district, I
was pleasantly surprised to see all of the restaurants, boutiques, and people.

meet prior to the Limo Cycle tour for Happy Hour. The Imperial shares it’s
space with Washburn Imports, a super worldly furniture store that features
pieces from Asia. The ambiance was perfect and I loved the style. The Imperial
is known for their craft cocktails, beer, and wine. I enjoyed their Gin Flower
cocktail, which is Hendricks Gin, St. Germain, Cucumber, and Seltzer. This
light and refreshing cocktail hit the spot, I’ve already gone back to the
When we got to the location, I saw this bright blue, lit up vehicle with a
bunch of bicycle seats (and pedals!) surrounding a bar. WHAT?! The staff
members went over the rules, our agenda, served us Sangria, and it was time to boogie.
Oh, my favorite rule was the Red Light/Stop sign special. Every time we hit a
red light and stop sign, we had to raise our glasses, yell “social!”, and
laugh. It was a weird feeling at first, but you get used to it. Did I mention
that most of us did not know each other prior to this outing? We all bonded
quickly. Companies actually use Limo Cycle to help build team work within their
years, I’ve heard many friends rave about this place, so I was excited to check
it out. We were greeted by the owner, Theo Hollerbach. He immediately ushered
us to our table. A waitress came by with a big boot of beer for all of us to
share. Apparently, we had to finish the whole boot while the band played music,
and they weren’t going to stop playing polka until we stopped. My girl Fiorella finished it off, God bless her. The Willow Tree Café was kind enough to let us
try their sampler, which has sauerkraut, red cabbage, potatoes, pretzels, and
sausages. I don’t know the names of anything because I’m not familiar with
German food at all. We had such a great time, I definitely want to go back to
this lively restaurant!
bar, but half of us chilled outside because there was a nice, cool, breeze, and
it felt amazing outside. We take what we can get in Florida! We ended our
evening at the Imperial.
your typical outing. Everyone has to participate, it’s out of the ordinary, and
it’s fun! The only con that I can think of is the weather. Claudia chose the
perfect season to go on the tour. I don’t recommend going on the Limo Cycle
during Florida’s summer months!
