Experience the World of Aviation During Aerosim Flight Academy Summer Camp
Students Invited to Learn, Explore and Fly.
My dad never had a son until he met my stepmother later on in life, but my very first memories of him involved aviation. Back in the day, I didn’t know any little girls who were exposed to Aeronautics. He would buy me toy airplanes, brought me to MCO and ORL to watch the airplanes take off and land and would make me sit through Amelia Earheart documentaries, letting me know that one day I could fly. I can’t do math to save my life but I can tell you all about wind sheer and lifting. I recently spent the afternoon with him and of course, we spent a good amount of time talking about WWII planes.
I got the heads up on a great program for High Schoolers called Aerosim Flight Academy Aviation Summer Camp located in Sanford, FL.
High school students ages 14-18 are invited to experience the exciting world of aviation during Aerosim Flight Academy’s week-long Aviation Camps June 22-26 and July 27-31, 2015.
Designed to provide students a hands-on, real-life glimpse into professional pilot training, the Aerosim Aviation Camp curriculum includes practical lessons and activities that take place in the Academy’s state-of-the-art flight simulators and live aircraft.
Camp cadets will:
· Tour an air traffic control tower
· Learn pre/post flight procedures
· Explore flight navigation
· Review the training requirements for private and commercial pilots
· Fly in an actual aircraft!
“With an anticipated global shortfall of 1 million new commercial airline pilots and maintenance technicians in the next 20 years, Aerosim Aviation Camp provides us an important opportunity to introduce future aviators to the industry and pilot profession,” explains President and General Manager, Aerosim Flight Academy Hank Coates. “This program not only serves as a gateway for aspiring pilots, but also allows the Academy to further address the tremendous and urgent need for highly skilled pilots and aviation professionals.”
Aerosim Flight Academy Aviation Camp is $500 per week and is open to domestic and international students ages 14-18. The fee includes a plane ride, lunch daily, t-shirt and a pilot logbook. On-campus housing is not offered.
Over the past 26 years, Aerosim Flight Academy has trained more than 7,000 cadets from around the world with one mission in mind: to produce safe, professional and employable airline pilots.
“Today, there are cadets and instructors from ten different countries working, training, eating and living together on our Sanford, Florida campus,” Coates added. “They are all brought together by a similar goal: to become safe, professional aviators. We are proud to offer future pilots the training and tools required to achieve their dreams of flight.”
