Last week was my brother’s 40th birthday and yours truly surprised him on his big day.
(Thanks, Kia for letting me drive in style!)
My brothers live in Philly and Cincinnati. Out of all the siblings, I’m the closest to them. They’re my ride or dies, BFFs, PIC, etc. Unfortunately, due to all of our crazy schedules with work and being so far away, it’s rare that we see each other. My brother thought he was going to his penthouse on Marco Island for a quiet and relaxing week.
They’ve had this bad boy since May and no one else in the family has seen it.
I’m so proud.
His birthday fell on Orlando’s Park Avenue Fashion Week, which I’m an ambassador for. I took off whatever days I could, but also found myself working for over twenty four hours the day before my trip so I could take time off and focus on the family.
When I arrived, Eric was scrubbing the floors and shocked when he saw me. Best surprise ever! I brought him Glenfiddich 18 and Cohiba Cigars. BOOM.
Sunset birthday dinner
The next day, we walked on the sandbar. B made a bet that I couldn’t find a sand dollar. I’m super competitive, tell me I can’t do something and I will do my best to make it happen..even if it’s something small. I’ve never found a sand dollar on the beach in my life, but look at all the ones I found!
I won. Have a seat, boys! It seems so silly, but it was nice vegging out without any worries. Crucial decisions on this trip: when will our next cocktail be and where are we eating?
While we were on the sandbar, I saw something big with a fin swim by. I had a meltdown because I thought it was a shark. It was just a dolphin, but he would swim over the sandbar and circle it. I wouldn’t go back in the water.
The group text my brother sent everyone. LOL
This hood rat enjoyed their balcony breakfast nook.
Best way to start your day.
I got to decorate the condo. It’s such an honor to help out because B works for a huge hotel brand and designs for a living. Our styles are so similar but we brought different elements into the mix. I cannot wait to share the pictures with you all later. We spent a whole afternoon at showrooms and stores, I left feeling inspired.
I love candid pics but if I needed one picture of myself to showcase my personality, it’s definitely this. Scotched-up, work emails and attempting to stretch/yoga in heels. I wasn’t posing for the picture, in fact, I thought they were making me my martini night cap. I’m the best multitasker around.
Before I left, I wrote and hid random notes for Rob. He’s a close friend of the family that would be staying in my room.
Okay, time for my travel essentials for this trip!
Coconut water is always a must for me. I love electrolytes.
I usually pack snacks, but I didn’t have time for this trip. These Oscar Mayer P3 Portable Protein Packs were winners. They are little packs of poultry, nuts and cheese. I stored them in a lunch box with an ice pack.
Simple Micellar Make-Up Remover Wipes
I LOVE SIMPLE
Seriously, these are the only wipes that do not irritate my skin.
I’ve used OGX shampoos and conditioners in the past, but they weren’t that great. This was my first time using their products in years. I only bought it because it was made with coconut water, so I had to give it a try.
For some reason, the other shampoos I’ve tried made my hair dry. This Weightless Hydration Coconut Water set is great! And I love the Kukui oil anti-frizz hydrating oil. My hair was straight and not frizzy on the beach! 🙂
Listerine total care and Crest 3D White.
I always carry them with me, especially when I travel. I’m so weird about germs.
And last but not least U by Kotex Lightdays liners. I always bring back up in case of emergencies, you know what I’m talking about, ladies! Especially on vacation..you girls know how much I love Kotex! They even have $1 coupons if you click here .
What are your travel essentials and how do you ladies #BringComfyBack ?
