Can you believe that Christmas is right around the corner? Seriously, I can’t believe that it’s next week! If you’ve been following my blog this month, you’ll see a nice mix of low carb meals but holiday treats as well. I’m a firm believer in balance. During the holidays, I eat clean at home so I can enjoy food at parties.
I’m a huge fan of turkey burgers. Common complaints I hear about turkey burgers is that they’re “too lean” or don’t have enough flavor. It’s true, lean meat does need a bit of help. This week, I decided to try Herdez salsa in my turkey burger mix.
To make 5 patties, purchase 1.25 lbs of ground turkey.
Mix ground turkey with 4 tablespoons of Herdez Salsa, dash of salt, pepper and 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese.
Mix well, make patties, cook on med heat on lightly coated oiled pan. Cook patties on each side for 10 minutes.
I added pepper jack cheese, tomatoes, red onions and avocado.
Instead of a bun, I wrapped my turkey patty in lettuce.
So much flavor, there wasn’t a need for condiments. The flavorful turkey burger with fresh toppings was cooked to perfection. I like how it was filling, yet curbed my cravings.
