Spring is one of my most active months out of the year. I’m typically unavailable with friend and family events because I have tons of assignments that are on location. It’s also my most favorite time of the year ever, allergy season! Ha! Morimoto Asia has been on my list to check out for months now since it’s grand opening earlier this year. So, when I was personally invited to play in a table shuffle board match, I jumped on it!
A lot of you follow me on SnapChat (if not, add me: AnnieAtoZ ), you saw that it was one of my worst allergy attacks ever. It looked like I had been crying all day, I could barely open my eyes.
…BUT MORIMOTO ASIA
I always pick delicious food over everything. I could have been on my deathbed and had someone wheel me in.
I arrived at the ultra contemporary Pan-Asian restaurant in my Asian inspired tunic.
I savored a couple Sparkling Springs, which is a light sparkling wine, as I enjoyed a sneak peak of Disney Springs. How beautiful is this view? This is from Morimoto’s second story balcony, which looks like a lounge. It’s so sexy and the perfect spot for girls’ night out.
Having a Morimoto Asia in town is a huge deal, especially for me. I’ve been a fan of Chef Masaharu Morimoto since his Iron Chef days. Known for his unique presentations and fusion style of cuisine, this successful chef has 10 restaurants of his own.

(Chef Fujinaga’s resume includes NeYork’s Bar Basque and Sea Grill restaurants, Casa Solla and Gaminiz eateries of Spain.)
Executive Chef Yuhi Fujinaga has an interesting background, one I can relate to. This Japanese born, Hawaiian raised chef showcased his work in a number of Michelin-starred restaurants across the globe. Yuhi’s grandmother, Noriko lived in Brazil for over a decade. She taught her grandson Japanese dishes with a Latin twist.
I love the vibe inside the restaurant. Sexy, chic, modern, with Asian flare. LOVE.
I think I found another sashimi spot in Central FL!
We feasted on some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. I’m so picky about raw fish, as everyone should be. I loved the quality! I also learned a cool fact about some of the fish entrees on the menu: Chef Yuhi and the team at Morimoto Asia utilize fresh fish from Japan but are also looking to utilize fish locally. All the fish served at Morimoto Asia is fresh and on your plate 48 hours after it is out of the water.
That’s pretty amazing. What a treat!
I was eating this amazing dish in the pic above. These sticky ribs are to die for. You must visit Morimoto for this deliciousness. The meat is so tender, falls off the bone. Ugh. David and I had fifths, actually, nineths. I’m about to go back for twentyeths. Yes, I’m making up words. My blog, my mess.
LA BBQ Kalbi Ribs
I absolutely love the extraordinary journey Morimoto Asia takes you on. His innovative take on Korean, Japanese and Chinese dishes are some of the tastiest I’ve had. There’s so much more to try out. I’ll be back. Again and again. 🙂
Oh, David and I are the worst table shuffle board players in the history of table shuffle board…but we had so much fun!
Thank you for the tasty and fun night!
