Real beef is the number one ingredient. They claim that you’ll never find corn, soy, gluten, wheat, fillers, artificial preservatives or poultry by-product meal on their label. I liked that veggies and fruit are in the mix. When he was a puppy, I cooked a lot of his meals. His treats were also veggies and fruits the first year of his life. Two ingredients that stuck out were crisp carrots and tree-ripened apples because those were his favorites. Carrots are excellent sources of carotenoids, essential vitamins and minerals to help support immune system health. Apples are a delicious source of vitamin C, dietary fiber and vitamin A which helps support healthy digestion.

Hi friends. If you follow me on social media, you know I’ve been gone for over three weeks. I kicked off this spring season in Philly, Miami and San Juan. In between all of the madness, I became ill. Not once, but twice. It’s been years since I’ve had to be on antibiotics. The lack of sleep, constant go mode and poor diet caught up to me. I feel elated waking up in my own bed, getting kisses from my pup and cooking home cooked meals in my kitchen.
Because I’m dealing with Tonsillitis, all I wanted was soup. The weather is warm and the thought of something heavy doesn’t sound appetizing. I’ve been making a delicious One Pot Spanish soup for years over the summer months. What I like about this stew is that it’s light with tons of flavor.
Spanish Chorizo is packed with high protein and Thiamine.
Olives are antioxidants with anti-inflammatory nutrients.
Garbanzo beans are an excellent source of fiber.
Add 2 tablespoons of olive to a large pan over medium heat, add sliced chorizo and cook for about 4 minutes.
Add onion and garlic to pan cook 3 minutes more.
Add chicken to pan and more olive oil if needed and brown about 5 minutes per side.
Add crushed tomatoes, broth and seasonings to pan.
Bring to boil, reduce heat to medium, cook about 5 minutes.
Add undrained Spanish olives and beans, cook about 7-10 more minutes.
Top with chopped Italian parsley. Served with warm crusty bread.
Explosion of flavor.
I love how it’s a comfort food, but I don’t feel like a bloated mess.
I wanted to get Duke a new toy because I’ve been away for so long. After I browsed the toy aisle, I checked out the dog food. I noticed DISH from Rachael Ray™ Nutrish®, the “Made with simple, natural ingredients” line got my attention. Since Duke is a Jack Russell, he tends to suffer from allergies, which means I have to feed him high quality food. Simple and natural is the way we do things around here.
I purchased the DISH Beef & Brown Rice Recipe with Veggies, Fruit & Chicken bag for him. It’s been awhile since he has enjoyed beef. 🙂
My rambunctious little guy needs real, whole ingredients in his food. I’m happy with making the switch to DISH from Rachael Ray™ Nutrish®
Not all dogs are as fortunate as mine. Rachael’s personal proceeds go to Rachael’s Rescue, which was created to help shelter pets in need. She has donated over $10 million dollars, to date.
