As my friend David says, “Another day, another red carpet!”
One more because why not?
On May 24th, over 500 guests and members of the media celebrated the grand opening of the hottest restaurant in Disney Springs, STK Orlando .
What once used to be Downtown Disney, one of my favorite places to hang out when I was a teen, is now called Disney Springs. I’m not going to lie, when I first heard the name change, I hated it. Like most locals, I said “It will ALWAYS be Downtown Disney.”
I take it all back. It was time for a transformation. And if you know Disney, you know that creativity and amazing design would be part of this expansion. It has been years since I purposely hung out in Downtown Disney, which was very family friendly and geared towards children.
While family is still the focus at Disney Springs, their new stores and restaurants appeal to the younger crowd or parents who want to enjoy a date night. STK is the icing on the cake, the modern, sleek restaurant that we have all welcomed with open arms!
“The ONE Group” threw this grand Vintage Hollywood event. Their vision came to life with lengthy red carpets, beautiful women in burlesque attire and swank STK emblems. A bit racy, but very classy.
The new location is the 11th STK worldwide, and at more than 14,000 square feet, is the largest to date. Featuring rooftop dining with scenic views, the restaurant boasts both indoor and outdoor seating on two levels, a bistro, bar, private dining room and a fire pit. With a sleek and contemporary design, STK is known for its high-energy fine dining experience.
STK is a unique concept that artfully blends the modern steakhouse and chic lounge into one, offering a dynamic, fine dining experience with the superior quality of a traditional steakhouse. STK distinguishes itself by focusing on the social experience with a sleek, contemporary design and an in-house DJ who creates an infectious, high-energy vibe.
You all know I’m all about local food and resources, STK Orlando Executive Chef, James O’Donnell, says he plans to source ingredients from Florida-based farms whenever possible, especially seasonal fruits, produce and seafood.
“Roughly twenty-percent of STK Orlando’s menu will be exclusive to the Disney Springs location, including opening-day items such as Florida grouper, seared tuna and chili rubbed rack of lamb,” said O’Donnell
Joey Fatone hung out at STK with his loved ones.
STKs around the world are very celebrity-driven so its a good hot spot to see celebrities. Orlando Magic player Victor Oladipo stopped by the following day.
A surprise flash mob performed a choreographed routine to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” throughout the entire two-story restaurant.
The lighting in the stairwell is SO good. We did a little photo shoot while the DJ played The Jackson 5!
Cucumber Stiletto. Order it. NOW.
It’s very refreshing. This delicious craft cocktail is perfect on a hot summer day.
This is going to be my LBD, red lipstick, dance party, eat everything in sight hang out. I just know it!
Disney is constantly evolving, to be able to enjoy this brand and experience it’s magic on the regular is such a treat. I’m so thrilled to have STK Orlando in my backyard and looking forward to the growth in this area.
