I have a confession. People think I’m weird for this, but I don’t watch a lot of TV shows. I have a very short attention span. On top of that, I think a lot of productions are mediocre, along with played out story lines.
A new hit series is coming out this summer! Have you all heard of the new show Queen Of The South? It will be on USA Network and based on the international best seller La Reina Del Sur by Arturo Perez-Reverte. After watching the pilot episode, I was hooked. Queen Of The South isn’t like any other narcos show.
Alice Braga, the leading lady is a Latina Drug lord, which is not traditional at all. When her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico, Teresa is forced to escape as she seeks refuge from corruption and danger in America. In the process, she teams up with an unlikely figure from her past to bring down the leader of the drug trafficking ring that has her on the run. This will keep you on the edge of your seat.
The episode was clever, intense and sexy. I’m a very visual person, aesthetics are everything to me. I found myself gushing over Teresa’s style. She’s such a boss lady! Instead of letting a horrible situation eat her alive, she played the game and rose above. I can’t wait to see the rest of the series. This is going to be a my night in show!!
Tune in for the show’s premier on June 23 10/9 C. In the meantime, check out the trailer here.

Let me share my weekend with you guys 🙂
Michelle ordered pizzas, made the best turkey meatballs I’ve ever had, spoiled us with chimichurri steak, homemade sangria and the rest us girls brought apps, wine (lots of wine) and desserts.
I had such a great time the night before, I was inspired. Tapas, a great show, sangria and guava pastries with my family.
This delicious meal was consumed as we watched Queen Of The South.
It was a good day.
