Since spring, I’ve been keeping up with my yoga routine which isn’t like me at all. I was never one to consistently go to the gym or studio. Over the last couple of months, I had to reprioritize my life. Without good health and balance, everything else is in shambles.
I found that the one hour I dedicate to myself in the studio changed my life. It’s my special time to breathe and clear my mind. Not only does it help with clarity, but I feel stronger and my flexibility gets better and better. Giving up one hour of your day is hard, but you owe it to yourself and others around you. We tend to forget to be kind to ourselves and put our needs on the back burner. I used to think I didn’t have time to work out, which wasn’t the case at all. Everyone is busy but do we really need to go to happy hour? Is that show truly important? Do you find yourself staring at your cell phone all night? I’m guilty of waking up and going through my phone first thing in the morning. That’s a habit that I’m trying to quit.
My best advice to stick with a fitness routine is to always be prepared. I own a couple Yoga mats but one is always in my car, along with a yoga bag full of essentials. Absolutely no excuses, guys!
One of my favorite yoga bag essential is my DIY Yoga Mat Spray. This natural cleaner with antiseptic properties kill germs, but doesn’t ruin your mat.
Fill your bottle with about 3/4 of distilled water and 1/4 witch hazel.
I use about 6 drops of lavender oil.
And 12 drops of tea tree oil.
This essential oil is known to kill bacteria and fungus.
Spray on mat generously. Use a damp cloth to wipe down. Hang to dry.
It smells soooooooo good!
What’s in my yoga bag?
Some people avoid working out during their periods. I totally get it, I’ve been there. I’ve found that having a workout regimen has actually helped diminish bloating and cramping. I’m always prepared, so there’s no stopping me at this point.
Here are some of my favorites:
Exclusive anti-slip rubbery grip.
I love that they’re so small. They fit perfectly in a clutch or makeup bag.
U by Kotex® Barely There Liners
These liners are light and flexible.
How cute is the packaging? I’m a sucker for packaging!
This awesome mat spray, of course.
Super comfy and light. I also get so many compliments when I wear them.
Yoga socks with grip
I felt like I was going to break my face the first time I did hot yoga because I kept slipping off my mat. Yoga socks with grips keep you from sliding. They’re so great that I carry a couple pairs in different purses just in case I forget.
Dried fruit, nuts
I found U by Kotex® products conveniently located at my local CVS.
