I’ve been back in the states for less than two weeks now. It’s actually taking some time to adjust, my body is so off, not just sleep wise but getting used to eating normal again. Trust me, I’ll get into all of this later. I’m trying to find the right words to articulate my experience in the nicest way possible. Let’s just say I’m beyond thrilled to be back home.
What if I told you guys my hair was a shade of #FinsUp orange and blonde for a little less than 24 hours while I was away?
Look no further, I documented this mess. The thing is, I didn’t ask for bleach in my hair. I would never ask for bleach on my hair and couldn’t understand why anyone would do such a thing. Please don’t ask me why I didn’t notice the fumes coming off my head. The whole salon smelled like chemical. Part of me felt like the biggest weakling ever because I couldn’t even handle the outside air. The pollution is real in the Philippines, outdoor and indoor. I’m doing a whole post on my Filipino spa experiences…you don’t want to miss this.
What gets me is, the guy royally screwed up. Like, I could have maybe lived with the color if it wasn’t patchy and weird.
It was late at night and the following day was Sunday, which most salons are closed on and also before one of the holiest days ever in the country. Can you imagine my first time meeting family members with that hair? My Filipiana photo shoot was a few days after, too. So much stress, man.
As soon as I woke up, my cousins brought me to another salon.
At least all of my hair wasn’t bright orange, okay?!
That shot was taken at Hair Cuttery
They’ve been good to me with everything from color, cuts and blow outs. I knew they could handle this emergency. During this visit, I chose the Color Escape Package, which includes a single process color, shampoo, Redken® Chemistry Treatment and cut. My stylist Niki was awesome and knew how to handle the situation. Unlike my prior dye job, she concentrated on the lighter shades first. Now, all of my hair is even. It’s also very shiny and healthy, I couldn’t be happier. Hair Cuttery is a salon that I can always trust.
Time to be festive, guys! Like I said above, I am thrilled to be back home. This is my favorite time of year: Christmas parties, football, food, cooler weather. Can we say “perfection”? I just spent a month on a tropical, humid island, so when I arrived on a chilly 55 degree evening, I had to put together a cute holiday party look.
Fashion is important, but so is your mane. Don’t forget to find your nearest Hair Cuttery location here.
