This past summer, Jan Marini came into my life. Needless to say, her Daily Face Protectant has become one of my most treasured facial products. Since her SPF and Vitamin C serum didn’t make me break out and actually helped my skin, I was eager to check out the Chocolate Truffle Holiday Exfoliator. Spoiler alert: I LOVE IT
First thing first, it’s incredibly important to exfoliate dead skin during the winter. Because there’s less humidity, the dry air retains dead skin cells trapped in pores. The solution is to moisturize daily, but a lot of people tend to forget to exfoliate. All you need to do is exfoliate twice a week, no more than that.
The first thing I noticed was the delicious chocolate smell. It seriously smells likes brownie batter, which is my favorite during the Christmas season.
Proteolytic Enzymes – Papain from Green Unripened Papaya, Bromelain from Pineapple
Dimethicone filled particles
Basically, a recipe for glowing, baby soft skin!
The best part? It’s safe for most skin types:
I’m oily/Acne prone and sensitive. Even though I’m sensitive, this product did not irritate my skin. Jan Marini says that tingling or mild stinging may occur but I didn’t feel either or. It washed off nicely and didn’t leave a mess.
I know that at $88.00 a jar, the price is steep but you’re paying for quality. I tend to stay away from most exfoliators since they’re harsh with my skin type, so when I find a product my face agrees with, I’m willing to pay anything. Also, I didn’t need to use much product, a little goes a long way.
