One designer I’m excited for this winter season is Anthony Thomas Melillo and his fashion line ATM. The fashion line launched in February of 2012, but Anthony is a veteran in this industry. Melillo noticed a lack of style with casual sportswear while he was a Style Director at Esquire magazine in the 90s. In it’s first year, the contemporary yet flattering brand launched exclusively at Barney’s and expanded to over 40 exclusive specialty stores, including Forty-Five Ten, Liberty London, Kirna Zabete and Confederacy.
Anthony understands branding. He simply get its. Every tee, which is created in Peru has his initials printed on the arm, which is also tattooed on his arm. These details are part of the ATM experience. You will noticed that everything from the labeling to the presentation has his personal touch.
The line has widened to pants, skirts, sweat shirts and dresses. Where else can you find casual sportswear made out of wool, cashmere and French terry?
Not to mention, countless celebrities like Mandy Moore, Kim Kardashian, Taylor Schilling, Kendall Jenner, Christie Brinkley, Andy Heart and Olivia Wilde sport this pieces.
My issue with a lot of high end brands is their lack of understanding of regular women in the real world. I only invest in pieces that have functionality, high quality material that emphasizes the beauty of my body which I can wear to the office, date night or even out running errands. ATM gets it though. Look at all of these pieces that I’m currently shopping for:
A form fitting dress, especially black is my go to. I throw on a statement piece and or a blazer and call it day. Often times, I find myself wearing these dresses paired with a jacket to the office or meetings, apply a bright lipstick and ditch the blazer before I walk into my events. It’s both office appropriate and sexy. You can’t go wrong with investing in these pieces.
A pencil skirt with a zipper is office appropriate, yet edgy. Love, love, love this!
I love the Silk Charmeuse and Belted Shirt Dress for weekend brunches and daytime parties. Simple yet put together.
What I loved about ATM is that they throw in high fashion but you can wear these pieces out and about.
Totally casual but appropriate for errands, quick coffee break with a friend and even grocery shopping.
Black and toffee is one of my favorite color combos for winter. I’m really into the Felted Wool Double Face Wrap Coat. A Kimono Overcoat? This is such a pretty piece, I can’t get over it. Both are perfect for people like me who wear leggings and dresses during the winter months in the North East.
