Orlando is oversaturated with pizza joints, they’re not exactly the best either. When I was invited for a preview before Midici Kissimmee opened their doors to the public, I was hooked. So hooked that I had to visit them again..and again.
A couple of things sets them apart from the rest. First, they believe that “People are the best thing that can happen to anyone.”. When most people look at their logo, they assume it’s a red smiley face, but it’s not. It’s the profile of two individuals dining together. With life being so hectic, I’m guilty of not enjoying my loved ones and friends as much as I should. The aesthetics are wonderful at this location, very modern and bright, a perfect environment for a relaxing meal. I was really into their lounge music, too.
Midici believes in serving high quality fast food with high quality ingredients. Everything is natural and NON-GMO, something that I’m really into. Staying true to their Neopolitan heritage, their dough is made with only four fine ingredients: sea salt, pure water, live yeast and NON-GMO double zero flour.
We started off with fresh soft burrata cheese, fresh melon, prosciutto di San Daniele (imported from Italy and aged 24 months). Honestly, this is one of my favorite prosciutto and melon appetizers. I love how they incorporated burrata, one of my favorite cheeses of all time. If this was all I had, I truly would have left happy.
Margherita pizza is typically my go to but David ordered one with pepperoni, sausage and onions. We stopped talking and devoured both pizzas. This is probably the best pizza I’ve had in Orlando. The high quality ingredients make a huge difference.
The chef bought out Affogatos (The Drowning Gelato)
gourmet Italian vanilla gelato by Italian Master Gelatiers Leo Leo Gelato, drowning in espresso
and their Signature Nutella Calzone with Fresh Berries
Neapolitan dough, light, thin, soft and chewy, baked fresh with Nutella©, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries, hidden inside, topped with a hint of balsamic reduction, and shaved coconut
Midici got Nutella to create a NON-GMO version on the hazelnut spread so they could stay true to their beliefs. It was simply amazing.
We had such a great time catching up as we enjoyed every single bite. I also want to point out how awesome their staff is. Everyone is so friendly. Chef Nick took some time to hang out with us. At the end of an awesome conversation, we found out we were High School rivalries. Small world! 🙂
Midici was kind enough to help me host a giveaway. One lucky winner will receive two $25 Midici gift cards. All you have to do is comment below with what you’re excited to try on their menu. Contest ends on Monday, April 10th at midnight. Winner will be selected randomly. Good luck. xo
