My sushi experiences in Central Florida have been very mediocre. When I lived in South Florida, I had the best of the best at any given time, it kind of left me damaged. Since my last two sushi date attempts have been a complete bust, I gotta tell you how much I enjoyed my Sunday at Aji Sushi and Teppan in Winter Garden.
Located in the Winter Garden Village, Aji Sushi and Teppan is known for the modern interpretation of classic dishes. Because the weather was so nice, we decided to sit outside on their spacious patio. Their contemporary interior was quite roomy and a bit dark, it’s perfect for happy hours and dates.
Hot green tea and a Geisha Girl
Plum wine and sake cocktail. It’s a very sweet drink, but I enjoyed it.
Baby octopus salad
Marinated baby octopus with cucumber and orange, a bit od kimchee sauce.
escolar, salmon and tuna
Spicy tuna roll
strawberry, green tea and mung bean
I appreciate the high quality ingredients, everything was so delicious. When I visit local places, I feel like they try way too hard with made up rolls or dishes. That’s one of my biggest gripes when it comes to sushi. Less is more, in my opinion. Not all of us want to trek all the way to the city for sushi, so I’m happy there’s this fantastic option for us out west.
