Thank you Hair Cuttery for sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own. #MyHCLook
While most of the country relish the warm days and cool nights during the spring season, I’m in the swamps of Florida, constantly fighting humidity 24/7. As much as I love the state that I live in, I’m always complaining about the damp conditions we have to deal with. Hot and muggy environments are not the best for hair, let’s face it, but mama didn’t raise a quitter.
A huge part of my job in media is attending events at any given time. I love what I do, but it’s not as glamorous as everyone thinks it is. Most press conferences happen outside. Our secret is taking photos right when we get to the venue, before we sweat to death. There’s plenty of times when we don’t get that option though. For instance, during the Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon grand opening, media had to be on set at 6 am and hung out for awhile. Not to mention the early days leading up to the big event spent at Universal Studios.
On the bus, leaving the Backlot.
I’m usually amongst other bloggers, lots of reporters and PR professionals. Most of us try to look our best because we want photo ops on location and/or with celebrities. There’s been countless amounts of times that I had a great photo op and my hair was such a mess. What I love most about being an ambassador with Hair Cuttery is that my hair game has stepped up over the last two years. They’re constantly introducing me to affordable products that actually work.
Broke off from the VIP tour to rest.
This alley in Universal Studios had bomb lighting and my hair looked great, so..selfie sesh!
Another thing about my pics during this event, I rode on rollercoasters all day and got rained on. Not bad for theme park hair!
I used to be incredibly lazy, never really added product to my hair. This is probably the best thing that I’ve done to my routine, game changer, even on chill days.
If your hair is dry, especially your ends because you do major damage to it on the regular (Hi.Hello.ME!), the porous strands suck up the moisture in the air and causes the hair shaft to swell AKA FRIZZ. It’s best to add hydrating products to prevent your hair from acting like a sponge.
Products I’ve been obsessing over this spring are:
This is a hair strengthening duo. The description claims that it cleanses, strengthens and fortifies weakened areas. Restores and and repairs hair while protecting hair’s natural shine. The targeted delivery system, exclusive new RCT Protein Complex treats hair from the root to the core to the tip, giving all three levels the custom nourishment they need.
I am such a fan of this shampoo. First of all, what they say is true. My problem with a lot of moisturizing shampoos is how heavy and greasy my hair feels after using them. Since my scalp is already on the oily side, but the rest of my hair is incredibly dry, I’ve always had issues finding the perfect shampoo for me.
Finding a shampoo that cleanses well and restores shine? Amazing.
After you shampoo, condition and towel dry your hair, apply this anti-humidity rinse out mask. Leave in your hair for 5-15 minutes, rinse and style hair.
I personally use this mask a few times a week. Since I’ve had many beach days and have been hitting up the gym, on top of the usual heat/styling, my hair needs extra love.
Like I said above, I like how this moisturizing product doesn’t leave my hair feeling weighed down. My hair feels so silky after I use this treatment!
This leave in hair smoothing serum is my favorite because it’s a multitasker like myself. Not only does it smooth out your hair, but it is also a heat protectant (up to 446 degrees), moisturizer and detangler. GET IT, GIRL.
Geared towards medium to maximum frizz control, you may experience 82% less frizz in 24 hours.
After I towel dry my hair, I add a drop to my ends, air dry for about 30 minutes, add another drop and blow dry. The finish is so gorgeous!
Another tip? Go to Hair Cuttery and check out their Redken EQ Shine treatment. I recently had it done and couldn’t be happier. The demi permanent color gloss enriches your hair and makes it so shiny. I personally do this every 4-6 weeks.
Most of you have noticed that I’ve been spending a lot of time with my Universal and Loews family. Remember this fun trip? I recently got to check out the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort. This Caribbean inspired resort emulates a leisurely estate in the heart of the islands.
I love the laid back vibe.
Strong Water Tavern
It reminded me of the old sugar mills I’ve spent time at in the tropics.
I enjoyed my time at Sapphire Falls and it’s gorgeous property. They also have great perks, like early admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Universal’s Volcano Bay (opening early summer 2017) one hour before the theme park opens to the public when you stay at this on-site hotel.
We took the waterway from the resort to Universal Citywalk .
Convenient transportation is everything when you’re on vacay!
Pretending like I’m chillin in Cuba.
It got so hot, I had to stick my hair in a pony tail!
Because sushi and burgers. Duh.
Seriously, two of my constant cravings. We HAD to check it out.
44 North Nectarine vodka, lemongrass syrup, fresh basil and mint, cucumber
Miller’s gin, crème de framboise, orange juice, lemon juice, simple syrup
Both cocktails were very refreshing and delicious.
Edamame with garlic sea salt
Light appetizer that paired well with our drinks.
Us girls got the same thing, the Cowfish Bento Box with a spicy tuna roll.
A combo meal featuring both burger and sushi, including a mini-burger with American cheese, pickles and chopped red onion, sweet potato fries, Thai cucumbers, edamame and choice of a 4 piece sushi roll (California, Spicy Tuna, Vegetarian or Philly Roll)
We loved it. POW!
Shout out to Kathy for taking my photos!
How do you keep your mane frizz free?
Thank you to Hair Cuttery, Universal Orlando and Loews Hotels for being so kind!
