When I travel, I usually wear Miami team apparel proudly. People always have something to say and I’m told how awesome our beaches are or how they loved their stay in South Beach. As much as I love Miami Beach, my favorite neighborhoods are a short drive away.
Coconut Grove aka The Grove is the oldest neighborhood in Miami. The hustle and bustle of the busy city can certainly get to you. As soon as you drive into The Grove, you’ll notice the beautiful foliage and architecture. There’s ample parks, walk/bike paths because of the gorgeous views and shade provided by the hammocks.
Cocowalk offers fine dining, high end boutiques and entertainment. There’s also several neighborhood hangouts to enjoy.
I also love the easy access to the water. The bay views are stunning.
Coral Gables will forever have my heart. Home of The University of Miami, The Biltmore Hotel, Venetian Pool, Douglas Arches, Miracle Mile and Fairchild Botanical Gardens and so much more.
One of my favorite churches, The Church of the Little Flower.
The Mediterranean vibe is absolutely breathtaking. It’s been my go to spot for leisurely strolls, yoga, happy hour and dinners with friends.
Another reason why I love Coral Gables and Coconut Grove is because they’re both relatively safe. If you have a family or planning on starting one soon, this area has some of the best private and public schools in the country.
Both neighbors are extremely close to downtown. The commute is pretty easy. 🙂
and you’re so close to the water!
Have you visited Miami? What was your favorite neighborhood?
