Thank you, Nikita Hair for making this collaboration possible. As always, all opinions are my own!
When I created this blog, my goal was share my favorite products and recipes with you all. Over the years, it’s been a gateway for fun adventures and meeting fascinating individuals. In between all of that is a lot of fluff. Let’s be honest, most bloggers and people who work in media are being pitched to, companies try to convince us to work with them. Most of the time, it simply isn’t the right fit which is completely fine and the nature of the industry.
But then I pulled into the estate and saw this.
Lavishness with a sense of humor.
I knew I was in for a real treat.
I couldn’t help myself, I had to get pictures in front of this gorgeous door.
The founder of Nikita Hair, Inger Ellen Nicolaisen welcomed us into her beautiful home, a first for me. I usually meet senior executives at a restaurant for lunch, maybe a conference room and get a surprise visit by a VP but never inside of the founder’s home.
After a few minutes of hearing Inger speak, it started to make sense. Nikita Hair is one of the leading chains of hair salons in Europe, but that wasn’t what appealed to me at first. Her bigger than life and amazing sense of humor were contagious, however, Inger’s realness came out real quick. She was a teen mom, living in a village in Norway. Let that sink in.
Hair wasn’t always on her mind, it was trying to make ends meet for her baby. Since she had a child, her first business venture was selling children’s clothes. One night on the dance floor, she heard Elton John’s Nikita. That’s where the hair salon dream was conceived and she hasn’t looked back since. Over the course of 30 years, Nikita has opened 150 salons in Norway. After learning that there were forty three thousand zip codes in the United States, she couldn’t sleep until she occupied at least one and now Nikita Hair is in Boca Raton, Florida.
One of the girls asked Inger what inspired her, what was the driving force behind her passion. She simply replied with “Fear is the best motivation.” As someone who has lived on survival mode since childhood, it resonated. I soon learned that she is an author of many books and even participated in a reality show. Did I mention that she’s the mother of 14? Three are her biological children and eleven were adopted. Working with kids was something she has always done and started “A Hand to Children” foundation in 2000. What stuck out the most was how family oriented she is and how she treated her team members. It was a breathe of fresh air to witness all of this.
Some of her children prepared our delicious brunch. How sweet is that? Inger was born into a family of farmers. Growing up, she picked her own produce and learned to cook. I love that those skills were passed to her kids.
After brunch, we hopped into this stretch limo to head to Nikita Hair Salon. Inger rode with us as we sang and danced to Bruno Mars and Beyonce.
The salon is very chic. I love the modern and minimalistic vibe.
I believe the models were her kids. After all, this is a family affair.

They sent me home with their Chromin shampoo and conditioner.
and their hydrating face mist.
I truly love the way the formulas feel and smell. I’m weird about shampoo because a lot of them leave residue or don’t clean well. My hair feels wonderful! The face mist is addicting. It’s perfect to set makeup, especially in this south Florida heat. All of the products smell fresh but aren’t overpowering.
