It’s that time of year, the Epcot International Food & Wine Fest! You all know my love for Disney and food, so I jumped on this opportunity to dine at the Italy Pavilion when I got the invite. Who doesn’t enjoy the land of the mouse? Out of all the parks, I feel like Epcot focuses on a variety of cultures and the center of attraction is food. Anyone and everyone would have an amazing time at this celebration!
As soon as I got to the Italy Pavilion, I was greeted with an Orangecello Cocktail and Proseco.
We were told “I don’t like to see anyone drinking water. Here in Italy, we drink wine!”
I’m all about culture, so let’s do this guys.
What makes this pizza unique is that it’s served at room temp which is perfect in this Florida heat. A fluffy crust lightly coated with red sauce, sprinkled with arugula, mozzarella and prosciutto. I loved this pizza so much that I’m going back soon to enjoy it again.
Seriously, my fave.
The Italy Pavilion Kiosk goodness:
Spezzatino con Polenta
Beef stew with parmesan creamy polenta. I’m a fan of polenta, especially in the winter months. This dish was rich and would pair well with a red wine.
Vodka sauce with shrimp
I’m a pasta girl that loves seafood. The red sauce was flavorful and kept it light. Another thing I love about Food & Wine are the portions. Little nibs of goodness and I don’t feel so full afterwards.
With pomodoro sauce
I loved the pomodoro sauce in this dish. The pomodoro tomatoes gives the sauce a hint of sweetness and the chef added a little kick to it. It’s one of the best calamari sauces I’ve ever had.
Cannoli al cioccolato
Chocolate-covered cannoli with sweet ricotta, chocolate and candied fruit.
Chocolate lovers, this dessert is for you!
The pavilion’s kiosk also has an array of adult beverages. Everything from red to white wine, cocktails and beer.
This gorgeous pavilion is the perfect hang out. I loved being able to relax and indulge with my friends. When you’re in Italy, it’s senses overload. The wonderful sights, tastes and smells will keep you in this area for a bit.
You don’t want to miss this.
A special thanks to Disney’s PR team for this amazing tasting!
